Stop Recycling Trash at Meetings
Dec 12, 2022Let’s face it—your team hates meetings. Know why? You recycle the same garbage over and over again! Every time a problem comes up, someone says this: “Let’s create another meeting to discuss it.” There’s a whole lot of discussing and not enough problem solving!
The problems just keep piling up. You’re gonna run out of room to hide them all!
Just because you’re in a meeting doesn’t mean you’re being productive. Your team is treating the symptoms of the problem rather than its root cause. If you put a Band-Aid on the problem, it’ll just resurface at next week’s meeting. Any by that time, it’ll be even worse.
It’s time to turn problems into solutions.
Use meetings to tackle one problem at a time. Don’t just discuss the problem—I want you to actually TACKLE it! Everyone should leave the meeting with a clear solution in mind. Create a list of action items, and hold people accountable for what they agreed to do. Make those meetings count for something!
